Animal Sanctuary
Parays is the home of lions, kudus, impala, duikers, buffalo, zebra, porcupines, badgers and tortoises. The bird and butterfly population is a wonderful sight. Weaver birds embrace the dam-side trees as home, and yellow, white and orange butterflies flitter from place to place. A fish eagle has made his home in a tree that overlooks the big dam, and can be seen swooping magestically across the water surface. Herons and Storks often sun themselves along the banks, waiting to dive in for a snack - with a choice of crayfish, catfish and breem.
As you relax in the shade of a beautiful big tree, you hear the occasional lions call, the birds chirping, and the laughter and excitement of little children as they enjoy the paddling pools, water slides and swimming pools.
Take a boat ride out across the dam, a game drive to see the animals, and then light a fire and have a barbeque picnic, or simply buy some burgers from the tuck shop.
Come and experience the paradise that is Parays.
